  5. Neighborhood Watch.
Serves as an educational and communication link between residents and local law enforcement. Organizes the community into a network of observant eyes and ears that can report suspicious activities directly to the Boise Police Department.  Committee members and block captains distribute crime prevention materials, host neighborhood safety meetings, and maintain active communication channels like email trees or community message boards to share safety alerts. They also coordinate the installation of official watch signage at community entrances to deter potential crime.  Members never patrol the streets, carry weapons, or attempt to detain individuals, leaving all active enforcement and investigation entirely to trained police officers.
